from the X box, connect the network cable to the router box (not the modem). In the Xbox, check the IP address in there to see if they are on the range as the router IP address. The router address should be something like 192.168..0.1 or 192.168.1.1 etc.
If you do not know how to check router IP etc then this would be difficult and may be you need to found someone who know how to do it.
